Wireless Connection Issue?

So I used to have an old Linksys router with an SSID of "router" (this is an example). I recently got a new Ubee router through Time Warner Cable and changed the SSID to "Router" (just changed the front letter). I however kept the encryption key the same 16 characters as my older router. My problem is that I am having trouble connecting from my laptop without issues. Always switching from local to internet access. Firefox will always display cannot find server randomly. It takes on average about 2 minutes after opening my laptop to connection. This has never been a problem before, it usually connects instantly and remains stable. Are there some conflicts with the SSID or something?
